Usually at your first consultation, your clinician will discuss a provisional diagnosis, plan realistic goals and milestones and recommend whether it is suitable to continue in a therapeutic approach. Treatment approaches are also generally discussed.

Mood disorders refer to conditions that impacts on our mood to the effect it disables a person in various domains of their life – self care, work, relationship. The two main conditions are Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Affective Disorder.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a condition which begins in childhood and in many cases continues throughout the person’s life span. It is frequently misunderstood and misdiagnosed leading to life long suffering. Symptoms of ADHD include inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity.  

Anxiety disorders.  Anxiety can become persistent, uncontrollable and out of proportion to the reality of the threat.  

Eating Disorders describe illnesses that are characterized by irregular eating habits and severe distress or concern about body weight or shape. Eating disturbances may include inadequate or excessive food intake which can ultimately damage an individual’s well-being.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a developes after a life threatening incident – witnessed or experienced (in the case of PTSD) and multiple pervasive traumatic stressors (in the case of cPTSD).  

Borderline Personality Disorder is a condition which affects a persons ability to regulate emotion, affects how one tolerates distress, and affects one’s relationships with themselves or others. There are evidence based treatment available and our practitioners are skilled in evidence based treatment approaches for this disorder.
