Mr Philip Makarios

Clinical PSYCHOLOGIST

Philip is a compassionate and experienced clinical psychologist who is dedicated to helping people from all walks of life achieve their treatment goals. With a background in both community and hospital settings, Philip offers assessment and therapy for adolescents and adults. He is committed to using evidence based psychological treatment approaches and has extensive experience treating post-traumatic stress and complex PTSD.

Clinical Practice

Trained at Deakin University, Philip's research focused on the onset of psychopathology after sustaining an acquired brain injury. He has since worked in various capacities, including conducting criminal offending risk assessments and interventions, providing drug and alcohol treatment, diagnosing personality disorders, and working with first responders.

Philip is trained and experienced in a number of therapeutic modalities, including Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Philip is a board-approved supervisor and offers supervision to provisional and registered psychologists.
