Clinical Practice and Background
A/Prof Davinder Hans is a WA trained doctor and psychiatrist who is committed to individualised care and formulating collaborative treatment plans that incorporate patient values and goals.
Having broad training in a range of disciplines including psychopharmacology and the psychotherapies, A/Prof Hans utilises these skills in assessment and treatment of his patients. He ensures that medications prescribed are appropriate and necessary.
In Hollywood Private Hospital, A/Prof Hans is the Clinical Director of the Trauma Recovery and Growth Program.
Outside Suite 306 and Hollywood Private Hospital, A/Prof Hans is the Director of Psychiatry (Youth) WACHS in the Department of Health, and A/Prof Hans is also an Associate Professor in Psychiatry in University.
A/Prof Hans’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Western Australia. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. A/Prof Hans has a Masters in Affective Neuroscience (the neuroscience of mood and anxiety disorders) from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, Masters in Youth Mental Health from Melbourne University and a Masters of Forensic Mental Health with Excellence from the University of New South Wales. A/Prof Hans has completed the Graduate Certificate of Autism Diagnosis from UWA and a Diploma in Occupational Medicine from Ireland.
A/Prof Hans is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. A/Prof Hans is also a WorkCover approved medical specialist and has completed the Impairment and Assessment Training in New South Wales and is registered with SIRA.
A/Prof Hans is the Chair of the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Committee of the RANZCP WA, and is an RANZCP accredited supervisor for psychiatric trainees. His professional activities also include medical education at universities and psychiatric research. A/Prof Hans is the first author of the chapter on Anxiety Disorders in the Australia textbook, Foundations of Clinical Psychiatry published in 2017.
A/Prof Hans is able to admit patients (when required) at The Hollywood Clinic and supervises psychiatric trainees at The Hollywood Clinic.
A/Prof Hans is also experienced in civil and forensic medico-legal work.

A/Prof Davinder Hans is a WorkCover WA Approved Medical Specialist (Psychiatry) and has experience in civil and forensic medico-legal work. Please email us should you wish further information.
A General Practitioner referral is required for all new patients seeking psychiatric assessment. The referral should outline the reason for assessment, provide current health information and symptoms, and include any relevant psychiatric or psychological reports.

A/Prof Hans operates his own independent service and only leases office space and administrative support from Suite 306.
