Dr Andrew Sheridan

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr Andrew Sheridan trained in the UK as a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, and holds dual registration with AHPRA. Towards the beginning of his career Andrew focused on Paediatric Neuropsychology at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Oxford Children’s Hospital. Since moving to Australia he has focused on both child and adult Neuropsychology, specialising in conditions such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Acquired Brain Injury. He is also skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and behaviour management approaches.

Clinical Practice

Andrew’s approach is person focused, in that he aims to ensure clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and understood. In Neuropsychology it is also vital to be guided by research evidence, and Andrew stays up to date with advances in Neuropsychology: he is a university researcher/lecturer, and also a supervisor for postgraduate Neuropsychology students. To ensure that the fees remain competitive Andrew conducts assessments with the help of a final-year Neuropsychology/PhD student: Andrew and the student do the history-taking discussion together, the student carries out the tests for 3-4 hours, then Andrew and the student discuss the results with you together, and the report is jointly written also.

Special Interests

Andrew is able to see children, adolescents, and adults for Neuropsychological assessment. He takes referrals from medical professionals to carry out Neuropsychological assessments in the following areas:

  • Academic problems
  • Intellectual disability
  • Possible ADHD
  • Possible Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Acquired Brain Injury

Andrew would be very happy to answer any enquiries you have, for example about fees or what you can expect if you choose to arrange an assessment.
